Detolf Acrylic End Plates (Supplied In Pairs)

If you are using an Ikea Detolf as a fantastic enclosure for your hamster, but are worried that they may gnaw or chew their way out of the wooden ends, then these acrylic end plates may be a solution for you. The 3mm thick acrylic end plates are custom designed to fit around the metal inner frame of the Detolf, not only protecting the wooden cabinet ends, but also providing a beautiful finishing touch to your habitat.

The end plates are supplied in pairs and are available in two different colours, black and white to match the Detolf cabinet colours. You can either select the same colour as your cabinet or you can select a contrasting colour. There is also an option to include a decorative hamster motif cut through the acrylic sheet. If you have selected a contrasting colour for your end plate then this decoration looks amazing.

Fixing Options

To fix the acrylic sheet to the wooden end of your Detolf I provide 3 options:

• None – I supply the end plate without any modifications allowing you to fix it in your own way
• Screw Holes – The end plate has 4 x 3mm screw holes (screws not included) near the corners of the end plate so you can screw the plate in place
• 3M Adhesive Tape – The end plate is supplied with 3M double sided adhesive tape already fitted on the back

Please note that the adhesive tape creates a very strong bond which will be very difficult to remove once the parts have been stuck together. The adhesive works best when the surface being bonded to has been thoroughly cleaned, degreased with isopropyl-alcohol and then after removing the backing tape the parts are clamped together evenly and firmly for 12 to 24 hours. If the surface being bonded to is dirty or is greasy (eg fingerprints) then the adhesive will not make a good bond.
